What is Alpha Phi Omega?
Alpha Phi Omega (APO) is a co-educational service fraternity founded in 1925 at Lafayette College, USA, and later established in the Philippines in 1950 at Far Eastern University. Built on the principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service, APO has grown into one of the largest service organizations in the world.
In the Philippines, APO has become a leading student organization, committed to four areas of service: to the fraternity/sorority, to the campus, to the youth, and to the nation. Members are guided by a lifelong commitment to personal growth, camaraderie, and community service.
How to join Alpha Phi Omega?
To join Alpha Phi Omega (APO), you must be a college or university student enrolled in a recognized institution where an APO chapter exists. The process begins with orientation and recruitment activities hosted by the local chapter, where you’ll learn about APO’s history, principles, and service programs.
Qualified students may then undergo the Pledge Membership Program, a period of training and activities designed to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and commitment to service. After successfully completing this process and meeting all requirements, pledges are formally initiated as full members of Alpha Phi Omega.
What are the principles of APO?
APO is built on three guiding principles: Leadership, Friendship, and Service. These values guide all activities and lifelong commitments of members.
